Looking for an activity Stan and Marv join the Century Gardens security patrol. They find themselves framed for burglary by the neighbors while investigating noise in a condo unit. Erma gets her medicines mixed up and on her daily routine shopping trip she gets disoriented and winds up in a similar condo complex with a similar but crazier family that takes her in. Stan and Marv use their new security skills to track down Erma and rescue her.

Upon reviewing the newsletter, Stan sees his old do-wop group is booked by the Century Gardens theatre, sending Stan into an uproar that he's not included. During the show he realizes why the group broke up in the first place - lack of talent. Milo gets a job working in the Century Gardens rehab center and is in charge of placing robot animal pets to comfort the seniors. Milo looses control as the pets run amok. The seniors are saved by the family as they flee the horrible performance in the theatre.

Stan's other daughter Gloria and kids come for a visit, but when her impressionable kids see Hoover at work they idolize him and want to be just like him. The horrified family tries to convince the kids not to be like him but when Brendan's pet Iguana escapes and is feared to be eaten (Stan checks the gators in the channel in the back), its Hoover who uses his keen senses to track the iguana and rescues him. The family praise Hoover and see the error in misjudging him.

At the supermarket the kids are sent to pick up a chicken. With a crowd of seniors shouting for a "Lemon Pepper chicken" Brendon sneaks under the legs and to the back. He sees a butcher shop with unethical practices but turning them in tougher than they imagined with the owners part of the Century Gardens board. As the neighbors (The Kroupas') plant evidence to get the family kicked out of Century Gardens, the board meeting considers both charges and drops them all.
