Characters
The main characters are "The Snowbirds": Stan & Erma Bloom along with their kids Milo, Brenda and grandchild Brendan. Supporting characters are longtime friends of the Blooms: Marv & Shelly Freed. Other characters are new neighbors of Stan & Erma: Agnes & Walt Kroupas along with Stan's other daughter Gloria Bloom and the condo maintenance man: Hoover.
The Bloom Family
Stan Bloom: Father and former Do-Wop group member. Sarcastic and sometimes happy at the expense of others but looking forward to enjoying his new life. He’s eager to try new things but gets flustered along the way.
Erma Bloom: Loving wife of Stan but skeptical of living in a southern retirement community and will tell it like it is.
Milo Bloom: Awkward and unemployed son of Stan & Erma who goes south with his parents to find work. He tries hard, but things don’t go his way.
Brenda Bloom: Blonde bombshell daughter of Stan & Erma, but clueless. Left gay husband to find a better life for herself and her son.
Brendan Bloom: Brenda’s snarly son. Says embarrassing, rude things and gets into trouble whenever possible.
Supporting Cast of Characters
Marv & Shelly Freed: Stan & Erma’s best friends who convince them to live at Century Gardens. They've lived there for a few years and have adjusted to all the peculiarities of Century Gardens . They are excited to show Stan and Erma everything.
Agnes & Walt Kroupas: Nosy elderly neighbors who conspire to make life miserable for snowbirds Stan & Erma. They don’t like the snowbird idea and will go out of their way to get them in trouble with the Century Gardens board
Hoover: Handy-man and maintenance for Century Gardens. Helped by his brother Rufus. Both have a drawl that Stan has a tough time understanding, everyone else can understand them.
Gloria Bloom (not shown): The only member of Stan & Erma’s family who stayed up north. When talking to her it’s always shown snowing or some wintery storm. In an episode she’ll visit with her family.
Misc: lots of others such as Hoover’s family, Gloria’s family, Marv & Shelly’s kids, pet Iguana that Brendan catches and adopts in the pilot episode.
